As a follow-up to the licensing of officiants in Ohio. Who ever officiates your wedding not only needs to be licensed by the Ohio Secretary of State but must produce the license on demand by any person who is a party to the wedding. According to the Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 3101.10: “A minister shall produce for inspection his license to solemnize marriages upon demand of any party to a marriage at which he officiates or proposes to officiate or upon demand of any probate judge.” So to protect yourself and your marriage, ask your officiant to see their license to solemize marriages.
